Top 15% Densest Grey Alpaca tested, Per Ian Watt
And another elite 38 boy of silver persuasion to claim partnership with his better known "brother" Bea-2 Bomber of the rose persuasion.
"Harmony is a son of Aussie .38 Special, who really needs no introduction to anyone with even a passing interest in gray alpacas. He is a 15x Champion, 2x Judge's Choice, Herdsire of the Year; at the age of eight, he won the “Spirit of the Industry” recognizing the lasting quality of his fleece. Far more importantly, he imparts his bone, conformation, and elite fleece traits of extreme fineness, uniformity, density, high-frequency/high-amp crimp, and staple length to his offspring. This is especially incredible given that all of these awesome traits very rarely all go together, and .38 gives them to his get with amazing reliability.
Harmony is not merely “any” .38 son, however. He is out of a daughter of Rincon Cloud, one of the other most pre-potent gray herdsires in North America. Rincon's Magnolia is one of Rincon Cloud's absolute best, a stunning, full Chilean solid silver tuxedo gray out of a truly true black dam. She has had two previous daughters, both of whom inherited impeccable conformation, perfect type, and beautiful fleece.
Harmony inherited the bone of his sire along with the compact size of his dam sire, resulting in a perfectly proportioned, perfectly sized animal. His conformation is positively faultless. He inherited the awesome full fiber coverage of both parents, and a head that is the most ideal I have seen on a .38 offspring. Then, there is the not small matter of his fleece.
Harmony's fleece completely redefined how I think of gray alpaca fleece. It is not just great. It is elite, and I reserve that word for only the most indisputably awesome alpaca fleeces. I am a fineness fanatic, and this fleece is fine, and fantastically uniform. These traits combine with an excellent brightness to produce a wonderfully soft hand, but it doesn't stop there. My photographs of this fleece do it no justice, because his crimp is so tight – that extreme combination of high-frequency and high-amplitude that feels springy when pulled. Incredibly, his staple is excellent, and I say “incredibly” because it is extremely rare for a fine, high-frequency fleece to have such an amazing staple. Add a terrific density that can be appreciated even on the animal, and this is one seriously elite fleece.
His biopsy results confirm that he is, also, one of the densest grey alpacas yet tested ... Cool, huh? (Results under "Histogram.")"
Please review his data - this guy paired with the right female - it would be smashing
